Tangail

Tangail is a large district of Dhaka Division known for handloom weaving, fertile agriculture, forest-edge landscapes, and major road links. Tangail town is the district headquarters and a key urban center in central Bangladesh.

Tangail has long been associated with weaving traditions, market towns, and the historic legacy of zamindari centers such as Delduar. It later developed into a major district linking Dhaka with the north and northwest.

Location: northwestern side of Dhaka Division, spanning floodplain agriculture, river channels, and the Madhupur tract edge. The district combines lowland cultivation with forest-influenced upland terrain.
