How to Reach Lalmonirhat
By train
Lalmonirhat Junction (opened 1900) is a genuine historic railway junction with 4 platforms and 10 tracks. The Lalmoni Express is the sole direct intercity train linking Lalmonirhat and Dhaka: it departs Lalmonirhat at 09:45 and arrives Dhaka at 19:45 (return departs Dhaka 21:45, arrives Lalmonirhat 07:30), with a weekly off-day on Friday. There is no direct train to Rangpur — that trip requires a transfer at Kaunia. Burimari and Mogalhat stations also lie within the district.
By road
Lalmonirhat is roughly 290–300 km from Dhaka, with a road journey commonly taking 8–9 hours. Hanif Enterprise runs a direct Dhaka–Lalmonirhat route; other operators serving the wider Dhaka–Rangpur corridor include Nabil Paribahan and Shyamoli Paribahan. Rangpur is a short 25 km hop away, with frequent local transport.
