Transportation Guide
Jamalpur is linked with Dhaka, Mymensingh, Tangail, Sherpur, Dewanganj, Sarishabari, Madarganj and the Jamuna river corridor by road, rail and local river crossings.
Bus Routes
- Jamalpur central bus areas: buses and minibuses connect Jamalpur town with Dhaka, Mymensingh, Tangail, Sherpur, Melandaha, Islampur, Dewanganj, Madarganj and Bakshiganj.
- Dhaka-Jamalpur corridor: long-distance coaches commonly use the Mymensingh/Tangail road corridor depending on operator route and traffic.
- Upazila routes: local buses, CNG auto-rickshaws and easy bikes run from the town toward Sarishabari, Melandaha, Islampur, Dewanganj, Madarganj and Bakshiganj.
Rail
- Jamalpur Railway Station: an important station on the northern-central railway corridor, used for trains toward Dhaka, Mymensingh, Dewanganj Bazar and nearby districts.
- Sarishabari and Dewanganj Bazar: useful rail points for western and northern parts of the district.
