Kishoreganj

Kishoreganj is a major haor and river district of Dhaka Division, known for wetlands, fisheries, agriculture, and historic market towns. It had a population of 3,267,626 in the 2022 census and is one of the larger districts in the northeastern part of Dhaka Division. Kishoreganj town is the district headquarters.

Kishoreganj developed through river trade, haor settlement, and agrarian life under the larger historical influence of old Mymensingh and Bengal. It later became a prominent district in Dhaka Division with strong political and cultural traditions.
