Transportation Guide

Chattogram is Bangladesh's main seaport city and the transport hub of the southeast, with rail, long-distance buses, port roads, hill and beach corridors, airport access, and coastal movement around the Karnaphuli estuary.

Bus Routes

• Dampara and GEC-Muradpur corridors: important city and inter-district bus connection zones.

• Rail movement is especially important for passengers, port-linked cargo and the Dhaka-Chattogram economic corridor.

Flights

• Shah Amanat International Airport: located at Patenga; handles domestic flights and international flights to Middle East and regional destinations depending on airline schedules.

Port and River Movement

• Chattogram Port: the country's largest seaport and a major logistics center.
• Karnaphuli River corridor: connects port, industrial, ferry and local boat movements around Patenga, Sadarghat and Kalurghat areas.

Local Transport

• City buses, CNG auto-rickshaws, rickshaws, taxis, app-based rides and rental cars are common.
• Rental cars or microbuses are useful for Patenga, Foy's Lake, Sitakunda, Mirsharai, Bandarban and Cox's Bazar side trips.
