History & Background
Fed by a hill stream flowing from the Patharia Hills near the Indian border, Madhabkunda has long held religious significance for local Hindu communities, who consider the site sacred to Shiva and gather for a bathing festival each year during the month of Baishakh. Surrounded by dense forest and a small tea estate, the waterfall was developed as an eco-park in the 2000s with walking trails and viewing platforms, though its raw hillside setting and the roar of falling water remain its central draw.
