Rishang Waterfall (Risang Jhorna)

Chattogram 7 views

History & Background

Located deep in Khagrachari's Sajek Union area, Rishang Waterfall drops roughly 200 feet down a forested hillside in territory traditionally inhabited by the Lushai and Tripura peoples. It remained known mainly to locals until improved road access to the Sajek Valley region in the 2010s brought a wave of visitors also seeking out this waterfall as a side trip, and the local union council later built a long concrete stairway down the hillside to make the descent to its pool safer.

Highlights

  • Roughly 200-foot cascading waterfall
  • Long stairway descent through forest
  • Natural pool for cooling off
  • Combine with a Sajek Valley trip
