About This River
The Teesta is the main river of Bangladesh's northern plains, irrigating a large share of Rangpur division farmland through the Teesta Barrage Project. Its seasonal flow, heavily affected by upstream dams in India, has made it a recurring topic in Bangladesh-India relations.
